Join us on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. for an online presentation conducted by Jen McEachen, a Deafblind individual working in the field of Emergency Management. Jen will speak about the importance of literacy and let you know how you can implement and integrate your student’s literacy skills with hands-on activities on preparing and mitigating for emergencies! Please note that the strategies Jen will be presenting aligns with SD 38 (Richmond) emergency preparedness and mitigation guidelines. 

Jen is a former POPDB student residing in Prince George, working towards a bachelor’s degree in emergency / security management through the Justice Institute of BC. She is currently employed as the “Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Coordinator” for the Canadian Red Cross, a Deafblind Ambassador for CNIB Deafblind Community Services, and is a DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility) Director for the Canadian Risk and Hazard Network (CRHNet).
